Richard “oreso” Lacy (Game and Layout Designer)

Day Job: Travelling English teacher.

Play Pretend Job: Pompey Crew Design is myself and my bro-in-crime Kevin Barthaud, and we made Witch: The Road to Lindisfarne, a game about burning a young woman. And we’re currently working on The Marquis of Ferrara, a game about murder and courtly intrigue.

Previous hacks: Fight Infection (a zombie action mashup of Left 4 Dead and 3:16 Carnage Among the Stars), The Lady Blackbird (Age of Sail drift of Lady Blackbird), and God’s Watchdogs (a rules-lite variant of Dogs in the Vineyard)

Previous other work: 3:16 Character and play sheets. Oh, and here’s a spaceship combat game with conservation of momentum and no paper bookkeeping.

Game-style Preferences: Emotional or dramatic situations are great. System-wise, anything low-complexity will do, even if we use the rules all the time.

  1. Burning young women? What school are you working at dude?! When I was doing TEFL we just made students who didn’t do their homework stay behind after class.
